Recipe for success for intralogistics: Modularity and manufacturer independence

Remmert presents the future of sheet metal automation at the Blechexpo 2019

Integrated material flow concepts that can grow  modularly with the production requirements of customers  – this will be the focus for Remmert, the expert in intelligent automation and intralogistics solutions, at its trade fair appearance at Blechexpo 2019 in Stuttgart. From 5 to 8 November, professional visitors can receive in-depth insights into the the benefits of an integrated internal storage and transport concept based on modularity and manufacturer independence.

As a manufacturer with close ties to the metalworking industry, Remmert has always been committed to offering its customers long-term reliability and investment security. At its booth, the company will provide visitors with information about how measurable productivity increases can be achieved by integrating manufacturer-independent sheet metal automation – while at the same time maximum flexibility is ensured by modularity.

Increase productivity today, expand it modularly tomorrow

With the help of the modular principle of standard components, Remmert components can be individually interconnected or used between each other and can therefore create needs-based material flow concepts for the customer. This represents a decisive advantage in terms of flexibility and manufacturer independence. Additional features include flexibility and freedom in configuring specific processes. Due to its modularity, each system can be quickly and easily expanded. This means that companies can meet dynamic production requirements and prepare for the future. An essential component of all concepts from Remmert is keeping an eye on the overall process and the opportunities for optimizing efficiency.

LaserFLEX and SortFLEX - the toolset for process efficiency

Alongside the advantages users of the tried and tested “LaserFLEX” module enjoy, Remmert will be presenting the “SortFLEX” module at Blechexpo, the new FLEX component for fully automatic sorting. Together they constitute a process efficiency unit: LaserFLEX is one of Remmert’s core automation concepts. The module allows the simultaneous and fully automatic loading and unloading of up to four laser cutting systems - even from different manufacturers. By decoupling the loading and unloading unit, LaserFLEX attains material change times of only about one minute, making it the fastest system on the market.

The “BASIC Tower Sheet” can also be used to store raw material and buffer finished parts. The LaserFLEX then picks up the sheets in the BASIC Tower and puts the cut parts back into storage as required. Users who want to avoid the effort of sorting the finished parts manually can now use the new SortFLEX module. The latest addition to Remmert’s FLEX family is the fully automatic solution for sorting laser-finished parts. The module’s market launch is planned for the second half of 2019.

‘Our product portfolio extends from space-saving storage solutions to performance-enhancing automation units through to smart software components’, explains Frank Baudauch, DACH sales manager at Remmert. ‘We are inviting professional visitors to discuss the future challenges of sheet metal working and to work out together with us the best possible overall concept – true to our motto, "we make material flow".’
