Warehouse logistics and production planning on a new level
OKNOPLAST, one of Europe’s leading window and door manufacturers, has modernized its intralogistics with a fully automated honeycomb warehouse from Remmert. Over 2,500 tons of material (1,700 cassettes) are stored in a space of less than 1,500 m², handled by two stacker cranes. The result: materials protected from the elements, reduced labor costs, and a production planning horizon that has doubled—from three to five to six days.
Every minute, two stacker cranes transport storage cassettes containing window profiles to the material stations in the production area.
Window profiles are delivered to the production line for further processing every minute via several picking stations.
OKNOPLAST manufactures plastic profiles for window and door production in a variety of shapes and colors.
By moving the long-item cassettes to the honeycomb warehouse, valuable space was freed up for further growth.
