Use case: Saw cuts from the fully automated process

As part of a customer project, a concept was designed in which handling before and after the sawing process was to be fully automated.

The sawing center was to be accommodated in two hall sections. The bridge storage system for material with a length of 9 meters was to be stored in silo construction up to a height of 20 meters. The storage and retrieval machine moves above the rows of racks and the goods receiving station can be moved out of the hall area through a gate. This ensures better unloading and loading of the cassettes.

Two band saws are connected to the storage system via a PICK system. The cassettes pass through a hall section at the retrieval stations, which can also be designed as a fire section.

After the sawing process, the sawn blanks are removed from the sawing tables by a pick & place robot and palletized. A robot can operate both sawing machines via a traversing axis. A tool changer enables the handling of different sized sawing blanks and the placement of intermediate layers on the pallets.
