It took another ten years after the first process structuring. During this time, Beumer has continuously increased its production output and more than doubled its turnover. The existing material flows and production processes therefore had to be adapted to the current performance data and modernized.
Remmert developed the new material flow concept together with BEUMER. Among other things, it envisaged expanding the sheet metal warehouse in the direction of the long goods warehouse in order to gain additional sheet metal capacities. To achieve this, the long goods warehouse first had to be relocated. Within a very short time, Remmert dismantled the entire system, rebuilt it rotated by 90 degrees and shortened by one aisle, and reconnected the sawing machines to the long goods warehouse. The space thus gained next to the sheet metal store could now be used for its expansion. Remmert added a further 136 storage locations to the system, which has just under 200 pallet locations. Today, the system has a total of 20 storage towers spread over 2 storage aisles. A storage and retrieval machine (SRM) moves in the middle of these and carries out the fully automatic storage and retrieval of the sheets. As part of the warehouse modernization, Remmert refurbished the entire storage and retrieval machine, including all control elements and control cabinets. In addition, the entire drive and control technology as well as the safety concept in the original part of the sheet metal warehouse were renewed and the integrated warehouse management system PRO WMS and its interface to the higher-level ERP system from BEUMER were brought up to the latest state of the art. At the same time, two new Bystronic laser machines were integrated, which Remmert connected directly to the storage system.
