The bridge storage system with PICK system has been in use for almost 30 years at Günther + Schramm, one of the leading bar stock companies in Germany, at the Königsbronn site. All types of bar stock are stored fully automatically in the storage system. The bars are also automatically transferred to the automatic saws via the PICK system. After the sawing process, the residual material is automatically stored again.
In the course of a retrofit, the first generation of automatic saws was replaced by new ones in 2021, while the storage system and the PICK system remained the same. At the same time, Günther+Schramm also changed its saw supplier to MEBA. For the changeover, Remmert only had to adapt the software interface to the new manufacturer and update the WMS to a newer version.
