The concept relates to a production situation in the automotive industry. Various tubes are to be cut to different lengths. In the full expansion stage, three tube laser machines were assumed, which were to be supplied directly via a central storage system.
The tube blanks are picked up at each tube laser by a robot and palletized. The pallets are then automatically fed into a buffer store. From there, the pallets are transported on call by an AGV to the relevant machines for further processing.
The entire process - from delivery of the long goods to delivery to further processing - is highly automated and can be operated with very little manpower.
