Laser automation in the smallest space

With LaserFLEX, Remmert launched one of the fastest and most flexible automation solutions for laser cutting systems on the market in 2015. Since then, the system has been expanded with numerous variants and functions and has proven itself on the market in combination with various laser machines. LaserFLEX Line is the latest version and is ideal for anyone who wants to build a laser cutting center that is as compact as possible.

LaserFLEX is an automation solution that uses two independently moving shuttles to change sheet metal blanks on laser cutting systems. The loading unit is equipped with vacuum suction cups that place the blanks on the laser's shuttle table. The unloading unit uses rakes to pick up the cut sheets and place them in a drop-off position. This division of the job makes it possible to change sheets on the laser in less than a minute, significantly reducing laser downtime.

Previously, the bridge on which the shuttle cars moved crossed the shuttle tables of the laser cutting machines. The advantage of this is that several laser machines can be served by one automation line. This inevitably results in an L- or F/E-shaped system layout. "There are spatial situations at our customers' sites where this type of installation is inconvenient and takes up too much space. With LaserFLEX Line, we offer an alternative layout in which the automation is in line with the laser, allowing for a narrow installation," explains Product Manager Fabian Gries.

LaserFLEX Line can also be combined with laser cutting systems from different manufacturers. The modular concept allows four different approaches, which can be further adapted with additional options from the Remmert range (sorting solutions, material stations, etc.).
