By using the new sheet metal cell, 2Cut achieves time savings of around 60 percent in material handling. This is particularly noticeable in the job shop's many small-batch orders. “In the previous premises, longer transport routes from the storage location to the processing machines were often unavoidable,” recalls Mario Heinzig. “Today, we benefit from optimal material and data flows and have reduced the downtime of our CNC machines by at least 40 percent.” Furthermore, the new sheet metal storage system reduces the storage area required by a good 60 percent compared to the previous solution and eliminates the need for three warehouse workers, who are now employed in the production area.
