The LED lights allow the storage system, which is used to store aluminum profiles at a constant humidity, to shine either in the Fischer company colors or in the brand colors of a business partner. While details such as LED lighting are considered by logistics experts to be technical gimmicks, Remmert's honeycomb warehouse also has many special features in terms of “hard facts” – starting with its construction in silo form on a steep slope, to the controlled humidity, which, particularly in spring and autumn, prevents condensation from forming on the profiles during storage, which could damage their surface.

Design honeycomb bearing in silo design
Remmert GmbH was contracted to build a 17-metre-high honeycomb warehouse for Fischer Elektronik GmbH & Co. KG, which was additionally equipped with special design features, to ensure the perfect storage of aluminium profiles.

Aluminum profiles are stored in 2,100 cassettes with a load capacity of 1.5t each. The profiles are transported via the goods stations to the sawing center with 12 saws for further processing.

Colored LED lights make the honeycomb warehouse shine in the company colors. Employees and visitors can watch the storage and retrieval machine at work through a shop window.

To prevent condensation on the aluminum profiles, the honeycomb warehouse maintains a constant temperature and humidity throughout the year. This is not the only reason why the picking stations are housed in a separate hall area and separated from the honeycomb warehouse by fire protection doors.
