Automated sheet metal picking
Aperam Stainless Services & Solutions Poland has modernized its service center to serve small and medium-sized companies in addition to large industrial customers. In collaboration with Remmert, a fully automated sheet metal warehouse with 475 storage locations and advanced picking systems was implemented. The solution includes real-time inventory management, ERP integration, and enhanced security features. After only nine months of implementation, Aperam was able to secure a strong position in the SME market with faster delivery times and the “Click & Buy” service.
Sheet metal pallets are transferred from the adjacent warehouse to the picking area via a transfer station. The LaserFLEX Automation removal unit uses vacuum suction cups to remove pallets and stack them on wooden pallets.
The Remmert WMS is connected to the E-Aperam ERP system. This allows customer orders to be picked and shipped quickly and automatically.
While LaserFLEX Automation picks customer orders onto pallets, empty pallets can already be prepared for the next customer order in the adjacent area.
