Automated material flow for thick sheets

Instead of expanding the production area with new buildings, the contract manufacturer Joop van Zanten Staalservice B.V. favored improving the flow of materials in the existing facilities. Automation was one of the methods to be used to significantly increase productivity.

Joop van Zanten processes thick sheets in plasma and laser cutting machines from Messer Cutting. The steel plates are placed on shuttle tables by crane and first buffered in the warehouse by the Mammut system. The plates are changed on the CNC machines fully automatically and in the shortest possible time.
