5,000 euros Christmas donation for hospice work

Instead of giving Christmas presents to customers and partners, Remmert is donating 5,000 euros to the hospice work of Diakonisches Werk. On Tuesday, November 19th, Thomas Holthöfer and Mona Bel Atra from the Remmert marketing team handed over the symbolic cheque to Kerstin Hensel, managing director of the Diakonisches Werk, and Anne-Meike Thöne, designated head of the hospice in Herford.

For the second year running, Remmert is donating the money it would have spent on Christmas gifts for customers to charitable causes. "The positive response from many customers and colleagues last year encouraged us to do without Christmas gifts this year and to donate the money to really meaningful and sustainable causes," says Thomas Holthöfer. “We see hospice work as an important social responsibility and are very pleased to be able to contribute to it.”

"We are very happy about this generous donation, which will help us to expand our hospice work," said Kerstin Hensel. The money will be used to support the ongoing operation of the first inpatient facility, which is currently being remodeled. Once completed, the hospice will be able to accommodate ten guests in the renovated building during the last phase of their lives.

The goal of the hospice is to improve the quality of life of the dying and their families and to enable them to live a self-determined life in dignity until the end. This is achieved through holistic care and human attention. In addition to inpatient care, the Herford Hospice offers outpatient hospice care and a special ambulance. The "Wünschemobil" (Wishes Vehicle) makes it possible to fulfill the dying person's last wish and comes into play when relatives are overwhelmed, when the dying person can only be transported in company, when nursing or medical care is needed or when the family cannot afford the trip alone.
