The Remmert AGV impressed the 132-member, independent, international jury of experts with its innovative functions and user-friendly design for special requirements in the metalworking industry: the Remmert AGV enables really heavy and bulky loads – such as sheet metal and storage cassettes for long goods – to be transported autonomously, omni-directionally and safely even through narrow travel paths. A large number of applicants meant fierce competition: the jurors had to award the coveted seal of quality from among almost 11,000 entries from 57 countries.
Automated guided vehicle systems replace forklift truck journeys and rigid conveyor systems for internal material flow – thereby ushering in brand-new possibilities for production organisation: storage areas and machining centres can be positioned separately with fully flexible control. Existing space is used optimally and linear production processes can be broken up.
