The modular design of the MIDI sheet metal storage system allows for a high degree of customization. Based on the situation of each individual application, the racks and transfer stations are arranged to suit each customer.
You are always aware of your current inventory. With the integrated WMS, all inventory is centrally managed on site at the terminals and via the ERP interface.
Sheet metal and other heavy and bulky materials can be stored up to 25 m high in a space-saving manner with short access times. Variable storage density allows for maximum space and area utilization.
All material handling processes are automated from goods receipt. This significantly reduces labor costs compared to non-automated warehouse systems.
The automatic storage and retrieval machine ensures a continuous flow of material between goods stations and storage locations with fast access times. The safety equipment ensures safe operation at all times and protects against material damage.
MIDI sheet metal storage systems can be easily connected to sheet metal machines or ERP systems from various manufacturers. It is also possible to change the integrated machines and systems to other manufacturers at a later date.

MIDI sheet metal storage systems can be designed as single or double row systems. The second row of shelves can be added at a later date. It is also possible to extend the rows of racks in the future. This allows the sheet storage system to grow with your needs.
The MIDI-Combi variant combines storage towers for 3015 and 4020 sheet sizes in one row of racks. The AS/RS can move system pallets in the two different formats. For laser cutting centers processing both 4020 and 3015 formats, this means a space saving of more than 30%.
By arranging the shelves lengthwise or crosswise to the AS/RS, the sheet storage system can be arranged in an oblong or square shape. This makes it easier to integrate into a given space or to optimize the space required for connected machines and delivery stations.
With the option of variable bin heights, this storage system is well suited for large-volume goods. Because entire storage levels are moved, both palletized and non-palletized goods can be stored easily. For example, sheet metal packages and palletized metal parts can be organized in one storage system.
MIDI storage systems from 4 to 14 meters are offered as standard. However, customized concepts with storage heights up to 25 meters are also possible. Goods stations can also be implemented on different levels.
For long rows of racks, it may be useful to have two AS/RSs in an aisle to ensure fast shuttle times. In this case, transfer areas are defined where materials are transferred from one AS/RS to the other. In addition, a second AS/RS is an ideal backup solution to ensure uninterrupted material flow.
The MIDI storage system can be designed as a separate building. In this case, the rack structure is statically designed to support the roof and walls. This greatly reduces construction costs.
This module adds a HOST interface to the WMS. The local WMS is integrated into an existing network and exchanges data with the higher-level ERP or MES system via this network. This allows inventory and material master data to be managed centrally. It is also possible to connect to MES for production orders with automated material flows.
In combination with LaserFLEX Automation, a modular and manufacturer-independent solution for full automation of laser cutting systems is provided. The high degree of flexibility and adaptability gives the operator great freedom in the selection of suitable laser cutting machines.
The Remmert AGV can be a useful addition to a constant and unmanned material flow for transporting sheet metal or cut sheet metal. The AGV can pick up system pallets directly underneath the warehouse and transport them to defined stations outside the warehouse.
The height and design of the shelving system is individually adapted to the customer's local conditions so that maximum storage density can be guaranteed. The shelving can also be designed with one or two rows. It is also possible to add a second row or prolong the shelving row at a later date.
The storage and retrieval machine moves between the rows of shelves and is used to transport pallets between storage compartments and storage and retrieval station(s). The stacker crane can optionally be equipped with a scale to enable permanent stocktaking. Energy can also be fed back when the lifting beam is lowered.
The unpacking table facilitates the unpacking of delivered sheet metal packages. The punches of the unpacking table are covered with plastic caps to enable scratch-free handling that is gentle on the material. The stamp holder is designed so that the stamps can be offset to adapt to different wooden transport pallets.
The ejector frame is used to conveniently place the raw material on a raw material pallet. Depending on the position of the reference point, it can accommodate an alignment aid for sheets, on which the sheets can be deposited with pinpoint accuracy.
WMS Basic is modern warehouse management software that is specially tailored to Remmert sheet metal storage systems. It offers all the necessary functions for effective and clear sheet metal storage. The WMS is seamlessly integrated into the SMART Control control system.
The machine interface coordinates the functional processes between the Remmert system and another machine. Information about interlocking signals and safety functions is exchanged for this purpose.
The entire system is individually equipped with protective and safety equipment. This includes safety fences and gates, light barriers and safety and emergency stop controls.
The robust control panel features a built-in industrial PC pre-installed with Remmert software. The touchscreen interface provides intuitive control, with the most essential operational elements conveniently displayed.
