Remmert honeycomb warehouses make the best possible use of the storage space for bulky and heavy goods such as bars, pipes, profiles and sheet metal. The storage cassettes and the storage structure arranged in honeycombs are adapted to the material in order to achieve the highest possible storage density.
The storage and retrieval machine ensures safe and fully automatic storage and retrieval of materials. Dangerous and time-consuming handling with a forklift truck or crane at overhead height is now a thing of the past. Damage to the material due to inadequate storage or transport accidents is also eliminated.
From storage to picking, all material flow processes are largely automated. This significantly reduces personnel costs.
Each honeycomb warehouse is customized by our engineering department. Based on the format and weight of the material, cassettes, racks, SRMs and even the goods transfer stations are customized.
Honeycomb warehouses with their storage cassettes offer the unique opportunity to provide bulky material safely, quickly and ergonomically. With the WMS, all stocks can be managed on site at terminals and centrally via the ERP interface.
No other warehouse solution offers such high cycle rates of goods movements for long goods as an automated honeycomb warehouse. Up to 60 combined storage and retrieval operations per hour / per SRM are possible. This means that shipping or production processes are continuously supplied with material.

Every Remmert honeycomb warehouse is unique. Based on the material to be stored and the available installation space, the storage system is individually adapted during engineering in order to achieve the highest possible storage density and perfect material flow.
The Remmert honeycomb warehouse can be statically designed so that the outer walls and the roof are supported by the storage system. This significantly reduces the amount of work and construction material required on site.
An integrated weighing system automatically records changes to the respective item in the WMS. This ensures a permanent inventory without manual input.
The Combi SRM can move two narrow long goods cassettes or one wide cassette for sheet metal. This offers the steel trade, for example, the enormous advantage of being able to manage different formats in one warehouse / with one SRM.
For very long racks or if redundant operation is required, two storage and retrieval machines can be used in one aisle. The dynamic speed control ensures perfect interaction between the two SRM and fast cycle times.
An important argument in favor of honeycomb warehouses is the high storage density. The more material is stored per m² of floor space, the less space needs to be heated. Additional high-speed gates/hatches to adjacent hall areas help to maintain constant temperatures in the storage system. SRMs with energy recovery (recuperation) also significantly reduce energy consumption.
This module extends the WMS with a HOST interface. The local WMS is integrated into an existing network and exchanges data with the higher-level ERP or MES system via this network. This allows stocks and material master data to be managed centrally. It is also possible to connect to MES for production orders with automated material flows.
In combination with the PICK system, a fully automatic material flow can be set up to one or more automatic sawing machines. This enables the operation of sawing cells with very high productivity and minimal personnel deployment.
In the area of the storage and retrieval stations, various solutions for manual picking can be individually designed for all sides of the storage system. This efficiently synchronizes the material flow with the entire intralogistics chain.
Depending on the requirements, various lifting and conveying technologies can be planned into the overall solution. Remmert's own solutions or third-party systems are integrated here to meet the warehouse items and requirements.
We offer pick & place robotics specifically for panels or long goods to assemble customer orders with very little manpower. Other processes are also automated, such as packaging and the labelling of shipping information.
Instead of rigid conveyors for storage and retrieval, the Remmert AGV can pick up cassettes directly below the storage system. The flexible movement to other picking or production locations with the AGV gives you significantly more freedom in production and warehouse planning.
The racking system consists of powder-coated structural steel profiles in welded and bolted form. The exact design is customized according to the weight, format and quantity of the stored goods. The racking system is designed in cooperation with companies specializing in steel construction.
The storage and retrieval machine is used to transport the cassettes within the honeycomb warehouse. It supplies the storage and retrieval station(s) with the cassettes. The SRM is designed to provide as many double cycles per hour as possible to enable a high turnover of goods.
The cassettes are manufactured individually based on the material dimensions. Each cassette can hold materials weighing up to 5 tons or up to a length of over 12 meters.
The machine interface coordinates the functional processes between the Remmert system and another machine. Information about interlocking signals and safety functions is exchanged for this purpose.
The entire system is individually equipped with protective and safety equipment. This includes safety fences and gates, light barriers and safety and emergency stop controls.
The robust control panel features a built-in industrial PC pre-installed with Remmert software. The touchscreen interface provides intuitive control, with the most essential operational elements conveniently displayed.
With the longitudinal station, cassettes can be moved over the short sides of the warehouse using rail-mounted carriages outside the safety area. A safety installation with light barriers ensures safe operation.

Cassettes can be provided in quick succession via two parallel roller conveyors. A pusher moves the cassette to be restocked to the rear roller conveyor, making room for the next cassette.
The station carriage can be equipped with a lifting device to simplify material storage with a forklift or crane. The material can be placed on the lifting plungers and then lowered into the cassette.
